THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

Kati attended the University of Georgia on a full-athletic scholarship, where she competed for the GymDogs from 2009 - 2013.

During her time as an NCAA athlete, she completed a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies and a Masters degree in Sport Management and Policy, graduating with Academic All-American honors.

During graduate school, Kati interned with Georgia IMG New Media, host of the official University of Georgia athletic website, GeorgiaDogs.com. As a site producer, Kati was responsible for assisting in live streaming all events, producing practice reports, post-game packages and serving as the live color analyst for Georgia IMG Radio at every home gymnastics meet.

TRAVELING SEMINARS

From 2017 - 2020, Kati traveled around the world leading 'The Breazeal Gymnastics Seminar' at CrossFit boxes, martial arts studios, even on a farm! The B.G. seminars cater to the functional fitness athlete wanting to improve their performance with common gymnastics skills found within the sport of CrossFit.

Over two days, Kati teaches athletes the method behind the madness of her approach to gymnastics training. She coaches athletes with a heavy focus on education, disecting skills and movement patterns down to an incredibly detailed level — the bare building blocks of bodyweight movment itself.

OVERVIEW:
Kati takes the athletes back to their highschool days as they review the basic rules of physics and apply them to gymnastics skills.

As the athletes grasp the different concepts learned throughout the seminar, Kati works with them to re-build each skill with those basic building blocks, giving them a much stronger grasp on the entire movement.

The #1 priority of the seminar is to educate athletes on the 'how' and 'why' behind training skills a certain way, because the athletes can then apply that knowledge to years of future training. "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime."

ATTENDEES:
Seminar attendance is capped to 25 athletes. Beginner athletes, advanced athletes and everyone in between benefits from participation because the priority is put on learning principles that can be applied to many years of future training, rather than rushing practice and risking that the athlete regress or injure themselves.

ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS COACHING

From 2020 through 2022, Kati contracted with Kokokahi Gymnastics in Kaneohe, Hawaii to elevate their women's competitive programs and take the lead on branding and marketing strategy for the business.

OPTIONAL TEAM HEAD COACH:

As the head coach of the Optional Team, Kati trained the level 6 - 10 gymnasts four hours per day, five days per week.

In her two years as the head coach, Kati lead the Optional Team through two, record breaking seasons where gymnasts earned numerous career best scores and qualified to every State, Regional and Western Championship possible.

In 2022 and during Kati's second season as head coach, four of her gymnasts became first-time State Champions and two became first-time Regional Champions!

DIRECTOR OF COACHING:

Kati oversaw all recreational and competitive team coaches, sharing her experience and implementing coaching strategies to further the development of the staff.

She worked one-on-one with each program (all compulsory teams and Xcel teams) to develop year-long plans that outlined specific phases for their pre-season, season and post-season. Kati taught the competitive coaches how to program for both the long term and day-to-day.

As the Director of Coaching, Kati held monthly meetings with individual coaches, small groups of coaches and the entire staff. These meetings ranged from training plan review to personal development to best coaching practices.

DIGITAL MEDIA AND STRATEGY COORDINATOR:

Kati re-designed the Kokokahi Gymnastics website, improving user functionality and SEO. She created a virtual library of online classes, movement demos, coaching instructions, event highlights and follow-along workouts that add tremendous value to the site and organization, and are available free to the public.

Kati also launched multiple social media platforms for Kokokahi Gymnastics that quickly gained traction with the online community. After only 14 months, the platforms had grown to:

  • Youtube: From 0 to 493 subscribers with over 500+ videos edited and uploaded.
  • Instagram: From 416 to 39,896 followers.
